A few words about Dionicio Surco

From a young age, I grew up in an environment where coffee was always part of our life. I learned by observing my neighbors and my family, who were already in the coffee business. Over time, I became responsible for the farm and decided to dedicate myself completely to production. My family has always worked in coffee growing, and I feel very connected to this tradition.

I learned about coffee production by observing and helping on my farm and working with my family. It was a very practical apprenticeship and over time, I was perfecting my knowledge based on experience and daily work. What I am most proud of is producing a good quality coffee, which reflects the effort and dedication I put into each harvest. It fills me with satisfaction to know that my work is bearing fruit and that my coffee has a place in the market. The main challenge I face is to adapt to the current climatic conditions, which can be unpredictable, and to make sure that each process, from planting to harvesting, is done in the best way to maintain the quality of the coffee. Also, our efforts to be efficient and sustainable on the farm.

My vision for the future is to improve the family first and foremost, maintaining a unity that will allow me to continue producing more quality coffee. I want to expand the farm, to be able to increase production and ensure that my family continues to work together in this project. My objective is for my children to continue with the coffee legacy that we have built, turning Finca Surco into a specialty coffee farm. I want to leave a legacy of effort, dedication and love for coffee that will last for generations and serve as an example for my family and community.
