A few words about Dimtu

DIMTU is a company set up in 2013 by Ato Getahew and Ato Aschalew, with the mission of adding value to the coffees of the Guji appellation. DIMTU's coffee is harvested in the forests of Guji, on an area of 150 hectares owned by DIMTU, as well as by nearby farmers in the Odo Shakiso woreda. Each farmer who brings his coffee to DIMTU has the opportunity to be trained in more sustainable practices.

DIMTU has a washing station and a drying station, with 250 raised beds. Drying takes place under shade, with precise control of humidity levels. The coffee is then sent to an organic factory 20km from Addis Ababa, before being exported.

DIMTU also runs a coffee nursery for local farmers. DIMTU also distributes shade trees, such as Albizia. A project is also underway to group together women coffee growers to form a single lot.
