A few words about Humberto Barrera

The Barrera family, originally from Guatemala, arrived in El Salvador at the beginning of the 20th century. Thanks to the will of the President of the time to develop the culture of coffee for the benefit of indigo, and the quality of their land, the Barrera family launched into the culture of coffee. Today the Altamira plantation is cultivated by the 4th generation on about fifty hectares and it is located near Santa Ana, in the skirt of the volcano "El Chingo". This plantation is therefore a hundred years old and benefits from a rich and fertile volcanic soil. It is divided into different plots, including "Altamira", "El Salitre" and "San Isidro". Its owner, Humberto Barrera, cultivates his coffee trees under natural shade to optimize the development of the fruit. For this coffee enthusiast, quality takes priority over yield and you can feel his philosophy by the cup!
