Maria Pacas' great-grandfather was the first to cultivate the Pacas arabica variety. For this reason, the family named the variety after him.
Maria works as Commercial Director at her family business: Café Pacas. For the last 13 years Maria has focused on promoting quality and developing specialty coffee through traceability, exotic varietals, and innovative processes.
Since 2015, Maria serves as a member of the board of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN COFFEE ASSOCIATION Chapter El Salvador (AMCES). She has organized and participated in events related to coffee education, marketing and community development.
CAFÉ PACAS promotes sustainable coffee production by providing unique working conditions as well as environmentally friendly practices. In coffee, human resources are fundamental. The family has decided to focus its efforts on improving the quality of life of its employees and their families. They therefore work with different institutions, such as FUNPRES, the National School of Agriculture (ENA), to contribute positively to the improvement of the environment. The projects are oriented towards education, violence prevention and the socio-emotional well-being of the employees.
